June was an exciting month for the CareerACCESS initiative!

Outreach & States Activity

The current Senate appropriations bill that is making its way through Congress has provisions that could benefit CareerACCESS. In addition, advocates in Michigan, Vermont, and Massachusetts are leading the charge to pilot CareerACCESS, and continue to work towards its implementation in their states.

CareerACCESS in the Huffington Post

Aya Aghabi, a CareerACCESS Core Team member, published an op-ed about CareerACCESS in the Huffington Post Blog titled “Redefining Disability for the Social Security Administration.” The article addresses the need to reform SSA’s current definition of disability in order to improve the employment rate of young adults with disabilities.

Tennessee’s CareerACCESS Informational Webinar

CareerACCESS is hiring!

Recent grants are enabling us to hire a full time national CareerACCESS Project Manager. The National CareerACCESS Manager will provide leadership to the CareerACCESS initiative and staff the CareerACCESS Core Group and the National CareerACCESS Advisory Committee.
